I’m Enock Niyonkuru, a PhD student in the Biological and Medical Informatics program at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF). My research bridges computational biology, bioinformatics, and machine learning, driving innovation in precision medicine and healthcare. Previously, I served as a Machine Learning Research Affiliate at Berkeley Lab and an Associate Quantitative Analyst at Morningstar, Inc., where I leveraged data-driven methodologies to tackle complex analytical challenges.
As a researcher and entrepreneur passionate about biomedical innovation, my work involves developing advanced computational tools, fine-tuning biomedical NLP models such as PubMedBERT, and creating efficient pipelines like AutoMAxO for biomedical curation. My ultimate goal is to harness computational approaches to accelerate biomedical discoveries and improve patient outcomes.
Committed to impactful innovation beyond academia, I founded Born2Serve, a nonprofit empowering single mothers and vulnerable students in Rwanda through education and entrepreneurship. Additionally, as founder of Floramigo, I integrate technology with psychological insights to enhance emotional well-being. Driven by curiosity, interdisciplinary collaboration, and a desire to make a tangible difference, I continuously strive to transform complex data into meaningful solutions.
